Bedouin Health Project at the MESA Conference in Boston

 The findings from the Bedouin Health Project were presented in the 2009 Middle East Studies Association (MESA) annual conference, which took place on November 21 to 24 in Boston, USA. The panel was entitled “Assessing Reproductive Health Care amongst Marginalized Communities” Bedouin in Lebanon”. The papers covered topics like the contextualization of attitudes towards Bedouins and in relation to the existing health care services, the perception of Bedouin women on the provision of reproductive and health services in the Bekaa, the existing gaps in the current policies regarding health care provision for Bedouins, and finally the challenges in implementing a community-based health intervention like training Bedouin CHVs.
