Planning workshop: group work on a working framework/structure for the CHVs

As a continuation of the project and as a plan to ensure sustainability of activities, the projects’ CHVs initiative was placed under the umbrella of the Outreach and Practice Unit (OPU) at FHS in October 2010, managed by Dr. Yassin and coordinated by Ms. Aline Ghazar Haroutunian. The first intervention conducted after this arrangement was a workshop held in November 2010 in the Primary Health Care Center (PHCC) of Kab-Elias. The workshop which was in collaboration with the local Community Based Organization (CBO) directed by Sheikh Haissam Touaimy, aimed at:

1) Building a working framework/structure
2) Setting goals, objectives and action plans with all stakeholders involved in the Bedouin Health project, to pave the way for operating in a productive and sustainable manner towards increasing the Bedouins’ access to and use of the available health services in the Bekaa .
Participants in the workshop consisted of a team of 3 members from the OPU, 4 members from the CHVs, the CBO director, the doctor in charge of the Kab-Elias PHCC and Hajj Mouhamad Baalbaki, the president of the Islamic Benevolent Association and general director of the above mentioned PHCC.
