20/02/2010

On Saturday, February 20, 2010, the Bedouin Health Project held a training workshop entitled "Towards Improving the Quality of Health Care: Bridging the Gap between the Centers and Bedouin Community ". The workshop took place in Chtaura Park Hotel in Bekaa Valley, and targeted the staff of the project’s two partner centers, the Bar Elias Health Center and the Kab Elias Islamic Charity Health Center. Dr. Faysal El –Kak, the National Team Leader, gave an introduction about the initial stages of the project and explained that during this meeting, the results of the research will be discussed, as well as different suggestions that can be adopted by the centers to improve the quality of the health provided for the Bedouins. The first presentation that was given discussed the milestones of the project and the accomplishments the team has reached thus far. The presentation highlighted the findings of the project and the dissemination meetings that took place during 2008 and 2009. The discussion then detailed the identified interventions and clarified the specific suggestions from the stakeholders which fed into the intervention plans. Following that discussion, Dr. Nasser Yassine’s presentation created a dialogue on how to foster a trusting relationship between the centers and the community.
